It's Super Bowl Sunday and the President of the Eastman Raiders Football Club says many young players here in the southeast will be watching. Sean Walsh says championship games have a big influence on young football minds.

"It's the sport the kids are playing that they love so they look up to some of these players. Being the two best teams in the NFL, it's a game most kids that are playing the sport will either watch with their family or watch by themselves."

Walsh says he will be tuned in for the Super Bowl but adds he will be a less engaged fan this year because his favourite NFL team, the Green Bay Packers, did not make it to the final.

Meanwhile, Walsh says the Raiders organization has been busy during the offseason.

"We're looking at hopefully getting some new bleachers for A.D. Penner park for the new season. We're also looking at maybe doing a spring camp. It's something we are working on as we speak. And, we just ordered some brand new equipment for the kids this year."

The Super Bowl begins today at 5:30 p.m.
