December 7th, 2014 started off like any other Sunday for Nancy Krahn and her husband Lyndon.  They were attending Sunday service at their church, when all of a sudden Nancy became ill and insisted they leave immediately.  She made it to the front steps and collapsed.  It was determined that Nancy was suffering a stroke.  She was transported to Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, and from there by STARS Air Ambulance to Winnipeg where she was placed in a medically induced coma to prevent further brain damage.

Fast forward to the present - Nancy lives life in a wheelchair.  She still has no feeling on her right side, and is slowly learning to walk with the aid of a walker.  The family has had to extensively modify their home to accomodate Nancy's wheelchair and aside from the emotional challenges, the financial difficulties as a result of Nancy's stroke have been significant.

Friends and family have planned a fundraiser to help offset some of the huge expenses that the Krahn's have incurred.  Here's what you need to know:

WHAT:  A casual evening featuring a light supper, entertainment, and a HUGE silent auction

WHEN:  Friday, October 9th - Doors open at 5pm

WHERE:  Friedensfeld Hall

COST:  There is no admission fee, although they will be collecting offerings at the door

If you can't make the fundraising event you can make a financial contribution one of two ways:  You can donate online on the Go Fund Me page that's been set up - OR - you can donate at any branch of the RBC.  Simply tell them that you want to contribute to the "Nancy Krahn Tragedy/Trust Account".

Let's help the family out!
