Council for the Rural Municipality of Hanover has given the green light to a home based business owner along Bush Farm Road, to expand his autobody, repair and sales operation.

Reg Fast owns Eco-Affordable Sales Inc, located along an intermunicipal road of Hanover and Steinbach. Fast appeared before Council requesting permission to increase the maximum number of vehicles allowed on site from four vehicles to 18. He indicated the increase in business requires the need to increase the number of vehicles allowed on site.

Hanover Reeve Stan Toews says instead of 18 vehicles, Council has approved 12 vehicles and has stated this does not include licensed personal vehicles.

Council received two letters of concern. One letter came from a neighbour concerned that the vehicles might not be kept out of site.

"You can not see the vehicles from the road," assured Fast at the public hearing.

A second letter of concern came from the City of Steinbach, suggesting this should not be a home based business and that it be relocated to a commercial zone. In response to that concern, Toews says one of the conditions is that should Fast ever sell the property, the next owner can not take over this business.
