Vicki Olatundun and her team at Steinbach Family Resource Centre are hoping you'll pass a high five their way.  They've launched their "High Five Campaign" and are hoping that people in the community will step up and ensure that the programs offered by the Centre in support of local families will be able to continue.

Vicki explains that two of their major donors have changed their mandate, and that means that Steinbach Family Resource Centre is down approximately $15,000.00 in funding for the year - an amount that will have a significant impact.

"In effect really, that's one and a half staff members less," Vicki says.  "Either that, or we cut programming by almost a half.  We stretch that money as far as it can possibly go.  When we're down $15,000.00 that's going to impact our programming a whole deal."

According to Vicki, families are most vulnerable when they are just starting.  Whether it's finances, emotional, mental, or physical stressors, she says it's critical to support young families.

"You know how they say it takes a village to raise a child?  It takes a whole community to raise a family," Vicki states.  She adds, "We are that community.  We are that village.  When a family is in trouble, we are all in trouble."

How can you help?  Simply by participating in the "High Five Campaign" by texting the words Support Families to 20222.  You'll receive a text back asking how much you'd like to donate.  Whether it's $5 or more, text back the amount you'd like to give - they'll respond asking if you'd like a tax receipt.  Simple!

Everybody at Steinbach Family Resource Centre thanks you for your support!
