Landmark Collegiate held their graduation ceremony Tuesday for their largest graduation class. There were 46 students, up from 28 last year, who crossed the stage and accepted their diplomas.

Vice-principal Kimberley Funk says they are a group of students who have a strong sense of community within the school and are naturally talented. Valedictorian Shayna Plett mirrors that statement adding those talents are in a number of different areas.

"Just talented in academics, music, sports, the arts, everything," says Plett. "[Also] involvement, we're very involved. We've been a part of student council. Involved and talented and, also, we have a really good community in our grade."

Plett says, though school, she has been able to learn a lot about the person she is adding school has rounded her out as a person and, leaving high school, she will most value the relationships she made along the way.

"If I could tell them (her fellow graduates) one thing before they go, I would just encourage them to not take for granted the things they have learned, the memories they have made and the experiences they have had here. They're good things to keep with you the rest of your life and just remember them. I'm 100% positive that I will still be friends with some of these people later, I don't want to block them out."

She adds she will be working at an eco-lodge up north during the summer and into the fall, then working on her portfolio before attending the Red River College graphic design program in the fall of 2017.

Graduation was held on Tuesday at 4:00 at the Prairie Rose EMC in Landmark.
