With the Pioneer Days weekend fast approaching, South East Helping Hands reminds everybody to please bring a tin for the bin to the parade this Friday.  According to Susan Braun, Steinbach's food bank relies on food drives like the annual Pioneer Days Parade to replenish their shelves.  And the need for the services of South East Helping Hands continues to grow with more than 500 families relying on the food bank every month, a good majority of those using their services being children.  If you forget your non-perishable food item, volunteers will also be collecting cash donations along the parade route.

After the parade, you're invited to check out the annual pie eating contest organized by Creative PrintAll.  They've made a venue change this year so be sure and watch for them to set up right along Main Street at Reimer Avenue following the parade.  There is room for additional contestants so if you're interested in signing up, please contact Tom at Creative PrintAll to register.  And we're told this year's flavour of choice is Banana Cream and Chocolate if that sways your decision to become involved!
