The City of Steinbach announced its plan for temporary access to the T.G. Smith Centre last week. It was announced, while Elmdale Street is still under construction, players and fans would have to walk to the arenas from Reimer Avenue.

"As a father of older hockey children I found it quite fine," says local hockey dad John Gula when asked about his reaction to the temporary access. "Despite the circumstances it has been very well repaired and I did not have a problem. However if I was a mom of four young children of which two of them were carrying hockey bags, I think I would have a very different opinion."

Gula adds people will be affected, but says if you look beyond and see the final picture, it will be worth the wait.
