The garage was a total loss when fire crews arrived on the scene at Bethel Church near Steinbach.
The Steinbach Fire Department was called out to a fire just west of the city on Westland Drive around 3 am.
Fire Chief Kel Toews says, "The 20x40 garage at the Bethel Church was pretty much a total loss when we arrived on scene."
Toews says fire crews were on the scene for about an hour and a half. He adds the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but says the Office of The Fire Commissioner will take over the investigation.
