Ice making is underway at the outdoor rink next to Centennial Arena

It won't be much longer until the outdoor skating rinks are opened in Steinbach. Jason Peters of Parks and Recreation says crews have been working hard on the rinks since the weather turned cold a week ago. He expects they'll be ready in a couple of weeks. And Peters adds they remain in demand. He notes the one next to the Centennial Arena will be especially busy in February when the 2 main arenas are tied up with the Safeway Curling Championship. In addition to the outdoor rink at the arena, the city will also make skating rinks at the library and at Les Magnusson Park in the   Stonebridge/Georgetown area.
