Around 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon a pot boiled over in a home on Fourth Street in Kleefeld and caught the stovetop on fire.

Kleefeld Deputy District Fire Chief Armin Dueck says the two females in the home were able to extinguish the fire before crews arrived.

"We removed the stove from the house; unplugged it, brought it outside, and we took the range hood off to make sure there was no fire in the walls."

He says there were no injuries and damage to the wall behind the stove was minimal.
