On February 13th, racers from accross the province and different spots of the world, will gather for a one day do it yourself outdoor active living celebration called Actif Epica.

The race will follow a number of communities along the Trans Canada Crow Wing Trail in southeast Manitoba.

The course is a 130 kilometer bike or run ultra endurance marathon from St. Malo to Winnipeg that will test human resilience in the cold winter environment. It is listed as one of Canadian Cycling Magazines "Ten Big Rides in Canada". Even though the event draws in a number of competitive racers, many of the participants are there to take part in a challenging long ride and unique winter experience.

Actif Epica is coming up to it's fifth year of celebration, bringing with it a new callenge. Cyclists will now have the option to tackle an even longer route of 160 kilometers. The longer course starts with a 34 kilometer ride taking the racer south and checking in again at the St. Malo Arena Checkpoint. The course is basically the same as previous years from that point until you are North of St Adolphe on Schapansky Road nearing the floodway. Than the racer will head west to Duff Roblin Provincial Park where they can cross the Red River on the Floodway Control structure heading to La Barriere Park in St Norbert. From that point the racers will head to the University of Manitoba.
