Steinbach RCMP report six incidents of impaired driving over the weekend.

They stopped a vehicle late Friday night and arrested a 33 year-old male from the Steinbach area. Police say he had a blood-alcohol level two-and-a-half times the legal limit. He was also a suspended driver who was operating an unregistered vehicle and was charged accordingly.

Just after midnight Saturday morning, officers stopped a vehicle and tested a 19 year-old male from Steinbach. He was issued a suspension for a blood-alcohol reading above .05.

Then at 3:45 Saturday morning, RCMP. stopped a vehicle that was being driven erratically. They say the driver had two-and-a-half times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. A 27 year-old male from Winnipeg was arrested and charged.

On Saturday evening, around 10:30, police spotted a vehicle that did not stop for a red light. They say the 26 year-old male driver was under the influence and was given a suspension for having a blood-alcohol level above .05.

Sunday, just after 2 a.m., police were called to a rollover in the RM of Piney. Investigators say a 33 year-old male from Winnipeg had lost control of his vehicle. A female passenger was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital in Winnipeg. The driver was found to have a blood alcohol level above .05 and had his licence suspended.

And on Sunday at 5:30 a.m., police were called to Provincial Road 303, south of Steinbach where a vehicle had hit the ditch. They say alcohol was a factor and the investigation continues.
