There are some road closures in La Broquerie due to street construction. Crews started tearing apart the asphalt on Gauthier Street Monday morning and plan to reconstruct the street from Principale Street to Tetrault Road.

Reeve Lewis Weiss says there has been a need for repairs in the last couple of years.

"I think the streets had kind of sunken in and it wasn't draining properly, so there was always standing water there. The LUD had put money aside from last year to attack this project and so this year was the year they decided to get it done."

Gauthier Street is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Meanwhile, Granger Street is being reconstructed from Loutrel Bay to Marcel Dugas Street, Simard Street and Borland Road, from St. Roch Road to Provincial Road 303, are having asphalt patching, and there are intersection improvements to Ekron-Oswald north of Highway 52.
