The Canadian Forces Snowbirds are expected to make a pass over Steinbach Saturday.

Adam Penner, Operations Manager at Harv's Air says they have been notified that the Snowbirds will be flying over Steinbach, Carman and Portage as part of their training for Sunday's Grey Cup in Winnipeg.

Penner says the planes will be coming from Carman and so expect their arrival in the western sky, probably in the early part of the afternoon.

"Our understanding is there will be no tricks, there will be nine airplanes together," says Penner. "We expect a straight and level pass, maybe a bank to see them all."

According to Penner, one of the pilots, Morgan Stachan received his training at Harv's Air back in 2003 and he thinks that is probably one of the reasons why Steinbach is part of their flight plan Saturday. He says it is pretty neat to have that connection.

"It's always impressive what our students accomplish as they go on," says Penner. "Snowbirds is a great, great thing to be a part of. We're very proud of him."

Penner notes the planes are expected to fly one thousand feet off the ground over Steinbach, which should offer a great view.

"I think it will be well worth it to keep an eye out," adds Penner.
