The Principal at Lorette Collegiate has announced his intent to retire at the end of this school year.

Tony Fiorentino has been with the Seine River School Division for 29 years and has decided to retire from his role as principal. Superintendent Mike Borgfjord says, “he's been a principal for a long time in our division, and has made a big impact in our school system.”

Borgfjord says after much conversation, the decision was made to transfer Teresa Yestrau from Arborgate school in La Broquerie to Lorette Collegiate as principal. “She's a fantastic principal and a strong leader for student learning, and has a lot of experience both as a highschool resource teacher, a classroom teacher, a curriculum consultant and principal.”

The decision was then made to transfer Sandra Potts from the Richer School to La Broquerie, where she'll take over the Principal role. “She's been a principal in Richer for seven years, and she'll be moving to Arborgate school. She is also a fantastic leader who's made a big impact on her school community.”

Borgfjord says both individuals will do a fantastic job supporting their students both with their learning, and some of their extra curricular involvement. “It's a great opportunity for both of them.”

Borgfjord adds, the division will be advertising for the principal position in the Richer School. All three staff changes will take place this fall for the 2016/2017 school year.
