Steinbach RCMP have charged a 33 year old male from Steinbach with Public Mischief following a situation Sunday morning.

At around 3:11am, police and ambulance received an assistance call from 911 indicating that a female wasn't answering her door at her residence in La Broquerie. The male indicated she was suffering from a medical condition and was unconscious.

Upon arriving, police determined the story had been fabricated and was all a ploy for the man to gain entrance to the building.

He was highly intoxicated.
