A man from Steinbach was involved in a fatal collision Wednesday evening near Roland.

At approximately 8:15pm, Morden RCMP responded to a two vehicle crash on Highway 23, about two kilometres east of Roland. A semi driven by a 40 year old man from Steinbach, was parked on the north side of the highway with its hazard lights on. A westbound car struck the back of the semi before veering into the south ditch.

The semi driver was able to get the lone occupant out of the car, however the 44 year old male from Winkler died at the scene.

The investigation continues.
