Harvest started this week for Rolling Prairie Farms south of Tourond.

Craig Loeppky says this year they have corn, soybeans, canola and spring wheat. Loeppky says if all goes according to plan, they could have all 400 acres of wheat in the bin by Saturday night. That would then give them time next week to make any necessary repairs as they gear up for the canola harvest.

Loeppky says though it was a wet summer, he wouldn't say they received too much rain. But he says harvest has been muddy. As of Friday noon, wheat was yielding about 65 bushels per acre.

"I think the yields are pretty good," he says.

According to Loeppky, the canola harvest should begin in about ten days. This year they seeded about 1400 acres of canola.

"Some of it looks good, some of it looks bad," he says.

Following canola, there is about 950 acres of soybeans to harvest and 530 acres of corn. Loeppky says the soybeans, which don't mind all the precipitation are looking really good this year, while the corn also looks to be a decent crop.
