WE BUILT TOY MOUNTAIN! Fri.Dec.11/09.
Image
There it is my friends!! What a pile and what fun we had hanging out at Canadian Tire for the last two days! It was amazing to see so many of you come by with toys for the 700 hampers that will be going out to families who need them this Christmas!! But the generosity and variety of giving blew me away! Thank you to all of the businesses who partnered with us and just all of you who stopped by to say 'hi'. And kinda neat that if you stopped by in the afternoon at all on Wednesday you would have met my co-host Al Friesen and yesterday afternoon, Tara Funke was manning the table and having a great time!! The spirit of giving is alive and well in southeastern Manitoba! I'm proud to be from here and to have been a part of Toys Days. And of course, a HUGE thank you to CANADIAN TIRE for hosting us the whole time... it was a perfect location... (a little cold by the doors) but perfect for making giving and collecting so easy. Again, MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Michelle.

Lost puppy - can you help? Mon.Dec.7/09.
A friend of mine's parents who live on Loewen Boulevard - about a 1/2 mile past Hespeler, found this little guy (or girl) in their field, very cold and very lonely. It had a leash and collar on still... so... if it is yours or you know who's it is... please call the radio station at 326.3737 and describe the puppy. If your description matches the picture we have -- we would love to connect you with the people who have your puppy and are taking very good care of it. Thank you!!

Looking back at a busy weekend! Mon.Dec.7/09.

Scene from Touch of Christmas.
OK... so, the weekend has come and gone -- and it was jam packed with fun, family things to do. For us... we spent some time watching hockey on Saturday afternoon... friends of ours have a son who plays in goal for the Atom AA Millers' team -- boy, did they ever play well. It was LOTS of fun. And lots of room for our 7-year old twin boys to race around. Then, it was off to Timber Trails for our Christmas tree!! We enjoyed a sleigh ride, bonfire, petting the animals and the hot chocolate. We ended up with a Balsam Fir which I love because of the smell. Everytime I walk in the door -- I'm reminded of the wonderful season we're in!! Speaking of Christmas trees, 74 trees were lit up on the Bethesda Hospital grounds on Sunday evening for the Bethesda Foundation "Gift of Lights" event. It's quite something to see them all light up at once -- I have to admit -- I was on my way to a family gathering -- so, my family and I enjoyed the moment from our vehicle and then, headed off to my in-laws for dinner. But it was nice to see so many people enjoying their hot chocolate, the Christmas music, the moment and the cause. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned "A Touch of Christmas" and the "Living Nativity"... I've heard from a few people that the angel on the crane was a highlight. What a great job the MHV did this weekend and well over 1,000 people shared in it. I am so proud to live here in the southeast... so many wonderful ways to celebrate the season. Michelle.

A Busy weekend in the southeast! Fri.Dec.4/09.
So, what are you doing this weekend? There's lots on the list... starting today there's "A Touch of Christmas" at the Mennonite Heritage Village, we're heading to a hockey tournament tomorrow at the TG Smith Centre, the Bethesda Foundation's "Gift of Lights" tree lighting ceremony is taking place on Sunday evening at 5:30 pm and probably a family gathering or two for you. I love how the community comes together at Christmas time. Whether it's just to give families an opportunity to spend quality time together and make memories -- or it's a chance for us to give to a great cause... we live in a special area. Lots to be thankful for during this Christmas season!! Have a super weekend! Michelle.
