Hey, if you spent your morning with us on AM1250 radio -- you might have missed some of the stuff we were saying. Thanks to a power outage in St. Pierre, we were off the air for a bit -- but that's how it goes. There were times when I was talking -- but you just weren't hearing me. Everything was up and running before the end of the show - so, if you stayed patient and stuck with us -- thanks!! The wind warning we had at the start of the show certainly didn't amount to much, which, obviously, is good news. And now, (10 a.m.) it looks like even the cement is driving on the parking lot -- so, I may be able to mow that lawn of mine anyway!! We have a great show for you tomorrow -- Tracy Dueck will talk about Rosenortfest... a southern Manitoba artist, Isolde Paul has some of her work on display in Tuscany, Italy right now... and of course, we're hoping for a sunny weekend forecast!! That's Corny Rempel (Morning Show host on Mix 96.7) and me (Morning Show host on AM1250) and we're going to be behind opposite benches at the Steinbach Pistons intrasquad game this Friday night as guest coaches. Game time is 8:00 and we're going head to head. I'm hoping my athletic experience will help the boys on my line-up skate to a win!! Here's Luigi!! And no, I didn't have a formed pan -- I used a picture -- cut these guys out of 2 9x13 cake pans and did the best I could. I have so much fun putting in the time to make a special cake for each of my guys. And if you're wondering where you'll find the time to do the same? A little less sleep -- brings a lot of rewards on the day of the birthday party. We had so much fun!! Feel free to copy the cakes -- that's how I get my ideas. Look at lots -- and figure out what you can do. The kids loved them and ate them up FAST!! Michelle.

Ahhh, there's Mario!! What a guy! If you're wondering what happened to his hands -- they're behind his back. Yes, my friends -- as you learn the tricks of the trade -- you realize that things like hands take time and are hard to get right. Although on Luigi I DID make some. If you're wondering I use the Duncan Hines Super Moist Marble Cake and the icing goes with the Waldorf or Million dollar cake in the Mennonite Treasury cookbook. (it's what my mom used to make :) Lots of fun!

And here's our grand prize winner of the Wii bundle - Marissa Sharples!! What a great prize and what great reading she did. Congratulations to all the prize winners but also, to all of the children AND THEIR PARENTS -- who read so many books this summer. No question you'll be ahead when you go back to school. Thanks to Lorraine Trudeau and her crew at the library for having great kids' books available -- and for all the extra work it takes to sign out thousands of books in a summer.
