Penner Pumpkins was a blast! Mon.Oct.19/09.

What an amazing time we had at Penner Pumpkins this past Saturday!! John Penner and his family certainly have worked hard to make it a place for families to have a wonderful time together. First we walked down the forest path, filled with scarecrows of all kinds, that are ANYTHING but scary. Neat little scenes that they created and put together. Then, it was off to the 22 foot high zip cord. You have to wear a harness and all -- it was awesome! We gave the pumpkin slingshot a try -- just make sure you only use the really little gourds. Pull WAAAAAAY back and let 'er rip!! Those things FLY!! Let's see, then, we went on the "train".... which is really a small tractor pulling 3 wagons behind -- it also goes through the forest and is a nice relaxing part of your time there. By then, we were getting hungry so we decided to have some hot dogs and farmer sausage burgers with chips and pop at the canteen. Next to which, stood a huge play structure and fort for the kids to play on -- of course, only after they were finished lunch. Then, we finished our time with some hot apple cider and I bought all the pumpkins I need for my fall display at home. I sure hope the weather stays nice because you need to get out there and enjoy "Penner Pumpkins". You can go to their website if you want to know more... and I will have a gallery of pictures up with my blog tomorrow morning!! Their website is easy to remember: www.pennerpumpkins.com. Another great southern Manitoba attraction starting up. Way to go! Michelle.
