If you were there -- you know how chilly it was. Family Literacy Day at the Jake Epp Library was a success anyway!! The outdoor ice by the library was full of children having so much fun!! Corny Rempel and I had a GREAT time singing for and with you guys -- old familiar songs like "B-I-N-G-O", "Old MacDonald", "Love You Forever", "There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly" and "The Cat Came Back" got everyone singing. That was fun!! Cold... but fun!! I'd like to hand out extra congrats to my friend Corny who actually played GUITAR in that wind!! Way to go buddy!! Thank you to all of the parents who brought their kids out -- to show them how important and fun literacy can be. Thanks to Harvest Honda for sponsoring the entertainment part of the night... and of course, to the library. Each kid at the event received a free book!!! Our boys were so excited -- they were already reading them on the way home in the car!! I thought that was SO cool! If you get a chance, thank librarian Lorraine Trudeau and her staff for a job well done. They have a passion for reading and community -- and that shone through last night!! Hot chocolate, bonfires, cookies, prizes and all!! Happy Reading!! Michelle.
