| Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz has announced nearly 10 million dollars in support for the Dairy Farmers of Canada. The government has committed 8.7 million dollars to study the health benefits of dairy products and for researching ways of improving dairy cow productivity. Ritz also announced nearly a million dollars in funding for the dairy farmers' Canadian Quality Milk Food Safety Program. This money will help the organization develop a database to track on-farm audits and manage the registration process for the CQM program. |
