Brandt notes they played tournaments through the season against Bothwell, Landmark and Clearspring Middle School. Brandt says both the Grade 7 team - who lost in the quarterfinals - and the Grade 8 team performed very well.

"I was very proud of my kids, they handled the pressure well," notes Brandt. "When you go to a Badminton Manitoba event, they're long games. You play to 21 points and everything is best of three. A game that goes three games, a player can be out on the court, easily, for half an hour; they have to be conditioned, that's a very big part of it. So, very proud of my kids, they did very well."

Players Micah Reimer and Mable Penner were a part of the Grade 7 team who won provincials last year and Brandt says they played an integral role in accomplishing the win this year.
