Two Mitchell baseball teams played in championship games at the Wayne Tucker Memorial Tournament this past weekend in Transcona.

Mitchell went undefeated in capturing the Bantam “A” title. In the round robin Mitchell beat Carman 7-1; downed Winkler 4-2 and blanked MacDonald 7-0. Mitchell then defeated Winkler 7-1 in the semifinals and downed Seine River 6-3 in the championship game.

Mitchell Brewers played in the Mosquito "AA" championship game


Mitchell also brought home silver in the Mosquito “AA” Division. The Brewers had two wins and a loss in the round robin. Mitchell beat Kenora 12-3 and Gateway 12-7 before losing 3-0 to North Winnipeg. Mitchell outscored South Winnipeg 9-7 in the semifinals and dropped a 5-3 decision to MacDonald in the championship game.
