Brett Kulak had a three-point night as the Calgary Flames defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 at MTS Centre.

Kulak scored twice and drew an assist on Freddie Hamilton's goal 3:13 into the second period.

"I think our complete level was there, our speed, playing fast," said Winnipeg assistant coach Jamie Kompon. "I thought we played a fast game in the first two periods and then it dipped in the 3rd. Four hard days of camp, like I mentioned, and I don’t wanna take anything away from our young kids. These are their first NHL games and it’s been a process. It’s been a process the first four days here. A little overwhelming for some of them. Some of them first NHL game. You don’t wanna dwell on that too long but there were more positives than negatives today."

Jets netminder Eric Comrie stopped 24 of the 27 shots he faced.

Three Manitobans played on Tuesday night.

Oakbank's Quinton Howden, who signed a free agent contract with the Jets during the off-season, had 17:41 of ice time.

Colby Robak of Grandview and Michael Ferland of Swan River were in the Flames lineup.

Ferland had an assist in 16:18 of playing time, while Robak was on the ice for 21:21.

Winnipeg's next exhibition game is Thursday at MTS Centre against the Minnesota Wild.
