The Winnipeg Jets troubles at home continued last night against the Boston Bruins.

Boston jumped out to an early 1-0, when Patrice Bergeron scored on a pass from Brad Marchand. The Jets responded less than two minutes later when Bryan Little scored on a delayed penalty call. Blake Wheeler and the newly signed Dustin Byfuglien picked up assists on the goal.

The Bruins would retake the lead at 16:34 of the first period on a goal by Loui Eriksson. Winnipeg would tie the game with a Nikolaj Ehlers goal on the power play at 17:30 of the first.

Brad Marchand would give Boston a 3-2 lead heading into the first period intermission.

The score would remain 3-2 until the third period when Boston would pull ahead with goals by David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron, and Jimmy Hayes (empty net).

Jets Defenseman Tyler Myers talked about how things came unglued in the third.

“I thought we did a lot of good things in the first and second periods. We came out in the third, and we looked tentative. Being down a goal, we can’t play like that if we want to come back. They get the first one in the third, and we’re caught chasing, and it’s tough to come back like that.”

Final Score Bruins 6 Jets 2.

“The simplest thing is they got faster, and we got slower," said Winnipeg Coach Paul Maurice. "At the end of the day, we couldn’t get to a puck, couldn’t win, couldn’t come out with the puck, and when we did, we couldn’t move it quick enough. I don’t have an answer for you as to why that changes. We [had] 18 shots, 12 shots – we lost our production by a third in each period, and it came out the way, it came out right. We got behind and fought back, fought back.”

Winnipeg's next action is Saturday when the team travels to Edmonton to take on Connor McDavid and the Oilers.
