A strong first period saw the Steinbach Pistons get off to a 4-1 lead and that's how the game would end as the Pistons pushed their winning streak to three straight games on the road in Neepawa on Saturday night.

Jordan Bochinski got the scoring started with his third goal in two games, finishing off some hard work by his line mates Braden Purtill and Vaughn Dupre. For Bochinski, he now has 11 goals on the season and 25 total points, a new career high for the Pistons captain.

After Neepawa knotted things up just over a minute later, the line of Bochinski, Purtill and Dupre took over. First, it was Purtill freeing up the puck in the offensive zone, as he skated around the net, he hit Dupre with a perfect pass for Dupre's 6th goal of the season.

The line was not done as on their next shift, a Natives defender gambled and took a healthy run at Dupre. Dupre stuck in and took the big hit and pushed the puck forward to a streaking Purtill and he snapped off his second goal in as many games to push the lead to 3-1. Darby Gula added an assist on the goal.

A late power play would see Gula notch his second goal in as many games as he rifled home a pretty cross-ice pass from Mack Graham to make it 4-1. Joseph Leonidas in his Pistons debut picked up his first assist on the man advantage marker.

That's all the scoring the game would see but that wasn't the end of the fireworks.

Late in the third, Ryan Carlson rode Griffen Chwaliboga into the boards with a hard check. The referee was calling a penalty on Carlson as tempers boiled over and Chwaliboga got up with bad intentions. Carlson dropped the gloves for the second time against the Natives as he and Chwaliboga went toe to toe. In the end, Carlson used his reach and his strong mix of powerful right and left hands to get the upper hand in the scrap before the linesmen jumped in.

Matt Radomsky picked up the win making 39 saves on the night. Radomsky did get shaken up late in the third as a Natives player went hard to the net and was directed into the young goalie. He stayed down for a short period of time and was tended to by Trainer Jeff Eidse. After a couple moments, Radomsky shook it off and stayed in the game.

The power play finished 1 for 3 while the penalty kill was a strong 3 for 3. Steinbach finished the night with 29 shots on goal.

Steinbach will travel to Winkler for a date with the Flyers on Wednesday night. The Pistons will be without the services of leading scorer Mack Graham, top rookie Will Koop and leading scoring defensemen Darby Gula who left Sunday morning for Alberta to compete in the Canada West Junior A Challenge selection camp.
