Austin Buhler ran the ball 21 times for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Steinbach Regional Secondary School defeated the Elmwood Giants 31-3 Friday night in Winnipeg.

Tyler Botham added a 54-yard touchdown run for the Sabres who bounced back from last weeks 20-15 loss to the Vincent Massey Vikings in Brandon.

SRSS quarterback Harrison Pankratz completed 9-of-13 passes for 136 yards and tossed a nifty third quarter touchdown pass to Eric Adams.

Sheycoy Selent had five catches for 111 yards.

Selent also had a kickoff return touchdown called back due to an illegal block.

The Sabres defence forced three turnovers.

Linebackers Dakota Funk and Riley Derksen had interceptions and defensive lineman Nathan Poetker chipped in with a fumble recovery.

The SRSS improved to 3-1 in the Winnipeg High School Football League's Kas Vidruk Division.

The Sabres next game is Thursday, October 6th against the Crocus Plains Plainsmen at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach.
