Sabres head coach Lawney Penner was excited to start the hockey program's third season.

"Happy with the progression we've made," Penner said. "I feel like every year we're making a step in the right direction of where we want our program to be and hopefully when we're talking year five and year 10 we can look back and really be proud."

Steinbach Regional's next game is Wednesday, October 14th against the Glenlawn Lions at the T.G. Smith Centre.
