Motorists are asked to use extra caution again this weekend as 4-H clubs from across the province will be cleaning highways and roadsides. Weather permitting, the campaign will take place Saturday.

All work areas will be supervised by adult volunteers and marked with safety signs, while participants will be wearing safety vests.

Cleanup takes place between 9am and 3pm and in case of rain, the alternate date is June 4th.

Twenty-eight 4-H clubs, including one from Woodmore are expected to participate this year.

The Manitoba government pays 4-H clubs for every kilometre of roadway cleaned.

Last year, 425 kilometres of roadsides and ditches were cleaned, raising nearly $12,000 for participating clubs.
