Thirty-one students will be graduating this year from Ecole St. Joachim in La Broquerie, making it one of the biggest graduating classes.

Principal Luc Bremault says the school is definitely growing, and growth has been a tendency at the school. He notes this graduating class is unique because of their high performance. “They are performance based, taking their studies seriously. They have worked hard to get here and to get those marks, and have set themselves up for whatever is waiting for them after graduation.”

Bremault says each year they have a male and a female represent the graduating class, and as selected by their classmates, the two valedictorians are Joel Rivard and Anie Bremault.

Anie Bremault says she plans to go to university and hopes to become a highschool teacher. “I would love to teach chemistry or biology, anything in that area.”

To her graduating class, Bremault says she hopes they follow their dreams. “I believe nothing is impossible if you work hard and put your heart into whatever you choose to do.”

Principal Bremault says, “We hope everything they have learned here, not just knowledge but a way of life, different ways of living your life, and how to treat people. Hopefully, Ecole St. Joachim has made a difference in that way.”

The graduation ceremony will be held at the St. Joachim Parish Church in La Broquerie at 4 pm Thursday, June 23.
