The first winner was announced at 8:30 Friday morning in the '50-50 For Kids' raffle.

Farrell Rempel was surprised to hear he won a pair of men's and women's Bulova watches from Gold N' Memories, noting his wife's birthday is on Wednesday, February 10. He explains why he chose to purchase the 50-50 ticket.

Ferrell Rempel with the prize he won from participating in the '50-50 For Kids' raffle."I coached baseball, and more than just baseball, but for almost a lifetime and seen too many times, saw kids coming in and not having things, not be able to do things and what you're doing and what ROC is doing is totally taking care of things and helps alleviate some of those problems."

Both early bird ticket winners will go back into the draw for the grand prize. Rempel says if he wins the grand prize he will be donating his winnings back to ROC Eastman. He adds if he does not win, he challenges that individual to also donate their winnings to ROC Eastman.

The current '50-50 For Kids' total is well into the thousands of dollars and continues to climb as the second early bird draw happens on February 12 and the draw for grand prize 50-50 winner is made on February 19.
