A joint investigation by the Steinbach RCMP General Investigation Section and the Altona Police Service led to a number of arrests this past Saturday for trafficking methamphetamine. Police say a search warrant was carried out in Morris just after midnight Saturday morning where four people were arrested. Evidence led police to get a second search warrant for a vehicle from Lorette where they found more meth along with a scale and packaging materials.

Police from Emerson, Morris and Winkler also assisted in the investigation.

Charged are Rachel Jacques of Morris, Jordon Demare of Morris, Travis St. Jacques of Steinbach and Rachel Morris of Lorette. RCMP say Jacques and Demare are being held in custody. Police say both of them were arrested for meth trafficking in early December as part of a major investigation in the southeast called 'Project Doorman'. Morris and St. Jacques have been released on a promise to appear in court March 3rd.
