There is a home in Pilot Mound about to embark on a journey, approximately 180 kilometres in length before coming to rest northwest of Grunthal.

Jacob and Helen Dueck have been given permission by council for the Rural Municipality of Hanover to relocate the home, built sometime in the 1950's. It is moving to Green Acres Lane, a development that has many homes constructed within the last five years.

Administration informed council the main part of the house was built in the 1950's, with an addition being added in the 1980's. Structurally the house appears to be in reasonable condition.

Reeve Stan Toews says council has concerns with the aesthetics of this home and has asked the Duecks to make sure it is in compliance with the building inspector's report by September 15th of next year. In order to encourage this, Toews says council has asked the Duecks for a larger deposit than normal.

The house is 1,200 square feet in size and the Duecks say they plan to renovate the outside and add a garage. Their plan is to move into that house.
