A male from Steinbach is facing a charge of assault following an incident during the weekend. RCMP report they received a distress call at 7:30 a.m. Saturday from a female at a residence along Fourth Street who said she had been

assaulted. Investigation led police to an address on Main Street where they found a male attempting to hide from apprehension. A 39 year-old man was taken into custody and charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats to kill, possession of a weapon, choking, mischief and four charges of breaching court-ordered conditions. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Monday (today) in Winnipeg.
