Penny Hovorka-Alcock has been named incoming Vice Principal of Shevchenko School in Vita.

According to a Border Land School Division release, Horvorka-Alcock brings twenty eight years of teaching experience to the position. She has participated in many professional development courses/sessions and has been active in school activities and with community groups.

Horvorka-Alcock began her teaching career at the La Verendrye Elementary School in Woodridge and has taught at St. Anne Collegiate and Arborgate Elementary in La Broquerie. In Border Land School Division, she has taught at Ross L. Gray School in Sprague and has been employed at the Shevchenko School in Vita since 2010.

She starts her new Vice Principal role effective September 2016.
