Parents of students in the Hanover School Division will have a chance to voice their thoughts privately starting Thursday.

The school division conducted the Thought Exchange survey among staff late in 2015 and are now looking to receive feedback from parents. Superintendent Randy Dueck says he is hoping for genuine responses to learn what parents feel the division can continue doing well, but also what they can improve upon.

"We think we know what parents are thinking, but we will know even better once we do this Thought Exchange process because there are parents in our community who are ready, willing and able to have conversations with staff on a regular basis. But there are parents in our community who are thinking deeply about various issues or challenges or opportunities in schools and aren't as inclined to just come and share those things."

Dueck adds this survey process will give both groups of parents the equal opportunity to share their thoughts, voice and perspective.

He notes the survey will continue until the end of May, at which time, the division will be able to compile the results, find the top five to ten comments from parents, and discuss the results going forward.
