Council for the Rural Municipality of Hanover has added more to its Reduced Speed School Zones Bylaw.
Last September, Council made it official that speed limits outside schools be reduced to 30 kilometres per hour from 8am to 5pm, from September 1st to June 30th. And that if a school is located along a highway that has at least an 80 kilometre per hour limit, the maximum permitted speed for that portion of highway would be 50 kilometres per hour.
Hanover Reeve Stan Toews says they have now added rural schools to that list, meaning private schools are now getting the same treatment.
Six schools have been added to the list and Toews says the necessary signage will go up this summer.
