A man from Ste. Anne was injured in a motorcycle accident Friday evening. RCMP report the 42 year old man was travelling south on Municipal Road 42 east, three miles east of Paradise Village, and accelerated too quickly when crossing the Trans-Canada Highway. As a result, he lost control on the loose gravel and crashed in the westbound lanes. Police say he was transported to Ste. Anne Hospital then transferred to hospital in Winnipeg. His injuries are described as non life threatening. Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a factor and the investigation continues.


Steinbach RCMP also report a number of break-ins and thefts over the past week.

A white GMC pick-up truck was stolen in Steinbach late Thursday night or early Friday morning. It has the name Friesen Gravel and Landscaping on both doors and has Manitoba licence HDG 591. There were also thefts that night from a number of unlocked vehicles as well as break and enters at some homes. Police are urging people to lock the doors of their vehicles and homes.

There was also a break-in late Friday or early Saturday at a home along Stonebridge Crossing in Steinbach. Several items were stolen.

And, Sunday, May 15th, they say a bicycle was stolen from a residence along Chapel Drive in Steinbach. It's a 1970's Rapido.
