Steinbach RCMP report a truck burst into flame Sunday afternoon while travelling on the Trans-Canada Highway. It happened around 4:45 p.m. on Highway #1 at Highway #12. Police say the truck was towing a camper when the fire broke out. They say the occupants, including four children, got out of the vehicle unharmed. The driver was also able to unhook the camper and move the truck a short distance before flames engulfed the vehicle. The cause is not yet known.

A girl is facing charges following some vehicle thefts over the weekend. RCMP report two or three vehicles were stolen in Steinbach and area and were taken for joyrides. Police say a teenage girl from Mitchell is facing charges related to those incidents.

A man was charged with impaired driving following an incident southeast of Steinbach in the wee hours of Sunday morning. RCMP say they were notified around 1:30 a.m. about a vehicle in the ditch along Highway #12 near Vassar. Officers attended and found the driver slumped over the wheel. A 55 year-old man from Falcon Beach was arrested and charged with impaired driving.

Steinbach RCMP say an all-terrain vehicle has been reported stolen in the RM of La Broquerie.
