Steinbach's Engineering, Planning and Zoning staff have found a new, temporary home.

A 1500 square foot office has been built on the north side of City Hall, where these departments will work out of during the renovation and expansion project at City Hall.

"Once we saw the construction schedule, we knew we wanted to keep impacts minimal for residents and visitors to City Hall," says City Manager Troy Warkentin. "It was important to keep staff displaced by the construction close by to maintain key working relationships, processes and service levels."

Staff are moving into the new building this week and it will be business as usual right away. The building is also equipped with a washroom and is fully accessible.

"What's great about the building is it's cost effective, allows us to efficiently serve residents, fulfills the need for temporary office space and once complete, the builder will move it off City Hall property and it will become a home for someone," says Warkentin.

The targeted completion date for the City Hall expansion is March, 2017.
