The Steinbach Regional Secondary School was evacuated around 9:30 Monday morning.

Steinbach Fire Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Mike Penner says, after a complete search of the building, there was no smoke and no fire found.

"At this point, we have not found the cause of the alarm. It's probably a faulty detector and they'll have to get the alarm company out to take a look."

Penner says the alarm company will need to test the entire system to find where the repair needs to be made.

Students and staff were allowed back into the building shortly after 10 a.m.
