RCMP report they caught two drunk drivers in Steinbach during the weekend.

Officers were called to a disturbance on Fifth Street Saturday around 10:15 p.m. When officers arrived, a vehicle approached and parked near them. Police spoke to the male driver who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and taken to the detachment office but refused to participate in a breathalyzer test. A 47 year-old male from Selkirk was charged with impaired driving.

Then on Sunday at about 10:00 p.m., police were patrolling on Park Avenue near Clearspring Centre. They watched a motorist drive over the curb and into the mall parking lot where he was pulled over. The driver was arrested and tested. As a result, a 37 year-old male from Pine Falls was charged with impaired driving.
