Southern Manitoba is bracing for its first winter storm of the season.

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning and Meteorologist Natalie Hasell says by later Monday evening, there will be snow and wind gusts of 60 kilometres per hour. Expect five centimetres of snow Monday.

Then Tuesday, another 10 to 15 centimetres will fall on Steinbach, with wind speeds reaching 70 kilometres per hour.

Hasell notes once this system passes through, winds from the north will drop temperatures to -20 degrees by Friday morning.
