Manitoba Highway Traffic Board thinks we don't need to reduce the speed on Hespeler Road from 60 to 50km/h. Maria Saulis disagrees! Her Son Kael was struck by a car at the intersection of Hespeler Road and Ashford Lane about a month ago.
Fred Hiebert from United Driver Training was there to run some controlled "emergency braking" tests at both 50km/h and 60km/h. The results were shocking.
Even Steinbach MLA Kelvin Goertzen stopped by that intersection and he plans on helping get more attention around the issue of making this a safer place for the kids.
