The province's potato harvest is coming to a close.
Vikram Bisht with Manitoba Agriculture estimates progress at over 95 per cent complete.
He says this year's crop is looking very good, despite the dry start to the season.
"Towards the end we had some rain and almost all the processors have irrigation," explained Bisht. "We will probably have as a good a year as last year when we had the record yields. This year we feel that some of the growers would overtake the yields that they got from last year."
Bisht notes that the quality of this year's potato crop may be better than what we saw last year.
He adds there were no serious disease concerns this year.
