The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is seeking feedback on ways to manage a plant fungus which can decrease the quality and yield of canola.

On its website, the CFIA has posted a draft risk management document on Verticillium longisporum for consultation until May 15, 2017.

Interested individuals and organizations are invited to read the draft document and provide comments. Feedback will help decide whether it's feasible to regulate this fungus.

First detected in 2014 in Manitoba, the presence of Verticillium longisporum, which causes Verticillium wilt, has now been confirmed in all major canola-growing areas of Canada.
