Stories Daryl is working on this week include, the Mennonite World Conference has held the first of its renewal 2027 events, three members of Mennonite Church Canada are organizing a pilgrimage walk in support of indigenous rights and the editor of the EMC messenger has written a critique of the CBC mini-series Pure which focused on Mennonite drug smugglers.

Stories Daryl is working on for this week include; the Canadian Foodgrains Bank is responding to severe drought in parts of Africa, member congregations in the Catholic Archdiocese of Winnipeg have identified their priorities for the future and many evangelical organizations are concerned about U.S. President Trump's desire to ban certain refugees

Stories Daryl has for this week include; Christian Chruch leaders have reached out with condolences and support for Muslims after last Sunday's attack in Quebec City, the head of MCC Canada has announced his retirement and Mennonite Church Canada has set a date to finalize its Future Directions restructuring

 

Sunday, January 29th

Stories Daryl is working on for this week include; Mennonite women played a significant role in women's marches last weekend, U.S. Mennonite Brethren sign a memorandum of understanding with MB Mission and C2C and Mennonite Church Canada issues some comments on the T-V series Pure which depicts some Mennonites as drug runners and murderers

Stories Daryl has for this week include; the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches has announced an interim Executive Director, Mennonite Church Manitoba is holding meetings on the issue of same-sex marriage and the moderator of the United Church of Canada is urging Christians to treat new U.S. President Donald Trump with dignity, respect and love

Stories Daryl is working on for this week include; relations between the Catholic Church and China have cooled a bit, a science professor at Providence University College has been recognized for breakthrough research on leukemia and Canadian Mennonite University has announced a centre for environmental and economic resilience
