Woodon and Mari and their mom, Jacqueline Dueck stopped by the AM1250 studio this morning to tell us about their "Gotcha Day" fundraiser.

"Gotcha Day" is the day they came to their home here in Canada. What a special day for their family. A life changing day for both Woodson and Mari who spent the first 5 and 3 years of their lives in the "Children of the Promise" Orphanage in Haiti. Jacqueline shared with us that the people at the orphanage feel like family and they are so grateful for all of the work they did to try and raise Woodson and Mari the best they could. But there is always help needed to do that. So, what a wonderful idea!! This is the 2nd Annual "Gotcha Day" fundraiser and it will take place on Monday, January 30th at the Mitchell Senior Centre from 4-8 pm.

All proceeds go to Children of the Promise Orphanage in Haiti. Tickets are $10 for all you can eat soup buffet with homemade buns and cupcakes for dessert.

Woodson and Mari came home from the Orphanage in Haiti in 2010 after the earthquake in Haiti. Last year, they raised $3000 for the orphanage and they hope to exceed that this year! Thanks so much for your help! For tickets call Jacqueline Dueck 204-392-2532.
